DETROIT — Two men made their final solemn professions as members of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) on April 14, marking their permanent commitment to serving God under the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience.
Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron presided over the Mass of Perpetual Promises at Most Holy Redeemer Parish in southwest Detroit, during which Bro. Joseph Spears, SOLT, and Bro. Adam Schmitzer, SOLT, made their final professions.
Bro. Spears, who is currently in formation for holy orders at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, was also ordained to the transitional diaconate the next day at the seminary. Bro. Schmitzer is a lay brother with the religious community serving at Most Holy Redeemer.
