This week, Archbishop Weisenburger joined young people from the Motor City Mission Trip, who were volunteering at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit among other sites. The Motor City Mission Trip is organized by a group of suburban parishes to get teens into the city and involved, serving as the hands and feet of Christ. Volunteers came from St. Patrick Parish in White Lake, St. William Parish in Walled Lake, St. Mary of the Snows Parish in Milford and the Church of the Holy Spirit Parish in Highland.

On Friday, June 19, Archbishop Weisenburger enjoyed a wonderful, life-giving visit to Angels' Place, a local nonprofit that provides care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through residential group homes, services and professional support in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment. The archbishop met with Tom Szczepamski, executive director, and Barbara Urbiel, chief development officer, as well as residents and staff. Angels' Place offers a variety of support services, events and activities for residents, including academics, sports, music, spiritual development, arts and crafts through a variety of programs in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties to help residents grow and thrive.

On Monday, June 8, Archbishop Weisenburger and Fr. Timothy Birney, moderator of the curia, welcomed six new interns who will spend the summer serving alongside coworkers in the Archdiocese of Detroit's Chancery. Pictured with Fr. The interns support the Chancery's work in a variety of areas, including real estate, finance, accounting, operations and technology. Welcome!

On Saturday, June 6, a warm early summer afternoon, Archbishop Weisenburger enjoyed great food, fun and even better company at the annual Cabrini Festival, hosted by St. Frances Cabrini Parish and School in Allen Park. Fr. John Herman, who serves the St. Frances Cabrini community, met the Archbishop and showed him around the grounds, introducing him to parishioners, volunteers and festival-goers.

On Thursday, June 4, Archbishop Weisenburger joined friends, supporters, seminarians, faculty and benefactors of Sacred Heart Major Seminary for the annual Archbishop’s Gala, an evening of faith and celebration of Sacred Heart’s mission of “forming shepherds for the Good News,” at Saint John’s Resort in Plymouth. The evening was complete with a musical performance by the seminarian choir, a raffle and reception, where the archbishop and Sacred Heart’s leaders expressed their gratitude for the community’s support of the seminary.
