Teenagers from across the Archdiocese of Detroit gathered Feb. 1 at Mercy High School in Farmington Hills for the 2026 RISE Detroit conference. The theme of this year's conference was "Unafraid." The conference featured Mass with Bishop John M. Quinn, keynote addresses from Chick Anyanwu, Eucharistic adoration, confession and time for games and fellowship with Catholic peers from the area.

One-hundred and eighty-six people from parishes all over the Archdiocese of Detroit were consecrated to Our Lady of Guadalupe on Dec. 9 at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit. On Sunday, Nov. 23, Detroit Auxiliary Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton celebrated the sacrament of confirmation of 92 adults at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit. The celebration of confirmations — one of the three sacraments of initiation, along with baptism and first Communion — is celebrated each year on the Solemnity of Christ the King, the final Sunday of the Church's liturgical year, for adults who have already received the sacrament of baptism or are entering into full communion with the Catholic Church.

On the Solemnity of All Saints, Nov. 1, the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament hosted the faithful for a special celebration of the Church's saints, complete with the veneration of more than 70 sacred relics from throughout the Church's history.

The Archdiocese of Detroit’s Office of Cultural Ministries hosted its annual Black Catholic Ministries Gospel Choir concert on Sunday, Nov. 2, at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Detroit, the former site of St. Leo Parish.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, more than 400 community members gathered at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown Township to celebrate Día de los Muertos, a beautiful day of prayer, remembrance, and cultural tradition. Families honored their loved ones through music, dance, and the ofrenda, a vibrant altar adorned with photos and keepsakes symbolizing the unity of the Church on earth, in purgatory, and in heaven. A special Mass and moments of quiet prayer offered space to reflect on God’s mercy and the hope of eternal life in Christ.
