Dearborn Heights — The school community of St. Sebastian School in Dearborn Heights was shaken Sept. 21 after a tragic attack at a Dearborn Heights home left four young people dead and their mother severely injured.
Two of the young victims, Kaliegh Green, 4, and Koi Green, 5, were students at St. Sebastian School, according to an Archdiocese of Detroit spokesman. According to Dearborn Heights police, the children’s father, Gregory Green, called officers early Wednesday to report that he had killed his family.
According to news reports, the two other victims killed included 17-year-old Kara Allen and 19-year-old Chadney Allen. The children’s mother, Faith Green, was severely injured in the attack and remains in the hospital in stable condition.
On Sept. 22, grief counselors were made available for students and staff at St. Sebastian School, and the school has taken up a collection to help with Faith Green’s expenses.
“Today we continue to mourn the loss of our 2 students Koi (1st grade) and Kaleigh (preschool4) and are dedicated to supporting their mother Faith Green,” read a statement on St. Sebastian’s Facebook page Sept. 22. “We are collecting donations to help with her expenses once she is out of the hospital. If you would like to make a donation, kindly send it in to the school office. We will give it to the family at the appropriate time.”
St. Sebastian School is located at 20700 Colgate St., Dearborn Heights, MI 48125.
The statement said school officials are continuing to work with the archdiocese to provide grief counseling and support resources for students and staff.
A prayer service was held Sept. 25 at St. Sebastian Parish in Dearborn Heights, which was open to school and parish families as well as the community.
