Sr. Mary Eunice McGreevy, SC

Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Mary Eunice McGreevy died Dec. 16 at Mother Margaret Hall, the nursing facility of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati. She was 87 and had been a Sister of Charity for 70 years.



Sr. McGreevy was born Mary McGreevy in Chicago in 1924, the daughter of John Joseph and Mary McGreevy.

Her religious life led her to teach and serve as a pastoral assistant in Illinois, Ohio, Cleveland, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. In the Archdiocese of Detroit, she taught at Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak from 1949 to 1952; at Guardian Angels in Detroit From 1968 until 1972; and at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Birmingham from 1977 until 1978. She also ministered to the sick and elderly at Guardian Angels from 1973 until 1977.

Sr. McGreevy is survived by brother Marty McGreevy, nieces and nephews.

Her funeral Mass was Dec. 23 at the Sisters of Charity Motherhouse in Mount St. Joseph, Ohio.
