Sr. Mary Emery Stefanick, CSSF, of Manistee entered eternal life Nov. 8 at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia. She was 73 and 56 years in religious life.

Cecilia Stefanick was born Dec. 3, 1943, the third of seven children to Emery and Elaine (Bottrell). She made her first profession of vows as a Felician Aug. 26, 1963, and final profession Aug. 8, 1970. Sr. Stefanick earned her Certificate in Practical Nursing from Blackwell General Hospital of Nursing in Oklahoma.

She cared for the sisters at St. Joseph Care Center in Livonia as a L.P.N. and director of nursing, and ministered at St. Francis Home in Saginaw and St. Mary Hospital in Livonia. She later was a volunteer sacristan at Guardian Angels Parish and seamstress for Presentation Central Convent.

Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Nov. 13 in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Chapel of the Felician Sisters’ Central Convent in Livonia. Burial is in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Manistee.
