Sr. Marianne (Catherine Michael) Marrin, IHM
Sr. Marianne Marrin, IHM, 83, died Sept. 18 in the IHM Health Care Center. Born Feb. 10, 1932, Marianne Marrin was one of three daughters born to Michael and Margaret (Scanlon) Marrin in Chicago.
Marianne entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1950 and received the religious name Sr. Catherine Michael.
She earned degrees in education from Marygrove College and taught in Michigan, Illinois and Florida. In Michigan, Sr. Marrin taught at St. Joseph, Monroe; Our Lady of Help, Detroit; St. John, Benton Harbor; St. Philip, Battle Creek; St. Patrick, Wyandotte; St. Matthew, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Brigid in Detroit.
Sr. Marrin is survived by her sister Katherine Marrin of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 23 at the IHM Motherhouse in Monroe. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery on the Motherhouse Campus.
