Sr. Lucienne LeBlanc, IHM, 93, died Feb. 26 in the IHM Health Care Center, Monroe.

Sr. LeBlanc was born Sept. 20, 1922, Tingwick, Quebec, one of six children of Hormisdas and Mary (Poisson) LeBlanc. She entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1941 and received the religious name, Marie Gonzaga.

Sr. LeBlanc earned degrees from Marygrove College, Detroit, and the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.

She taught for 48 years at St. John, Jackson; St. Cecilia, Detroit; St. Joseph, Monroe; St. John, Fenton; Sacred Heart, Auburn Heights; St. Michael, Flint; as well as schools in New Mexico, Illinois and Alabama.

Sr. LeBlanc is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Maurice and Paul, and her sisters Irma, Rita Allen and Sr. Lucine (Jane/Jeanne) LeBlanc, IHM.

Mass of Christian Burial was March 3 at the IHM Motherhouse Chapel in Monroe. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery on the Motherhouse campus.
