Sr. Judith Ann Seefeld, OP, formerly Sr. James Charles Seefeld, died April 30 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian. She was 78 and in her 60th year in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sr. Seefeld was born in Pontiac to James and Charlotte (Higgins) Seefeld. She earned her degree from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian.

Sr. Seefeld ministered for 39 years in elementary education in Michigan, Florida, Illinois and California. In Michigan, she taught at St. Mary, St. Clair (1958-60); and Sacred Heart, Munising (1964-66). Besides classroom teaching, she taught Saturday enrichment classes, started two kindergarten programs, was a Brownie troop leader, coached CYO girls basketball, and was director of after school programs for study time and homework.

A funeral Mass was offered in St. Catherine Chapel in Adrian on May 4. Rite of Committal was to be in the Congregation cemetery.
