Sr. Dorothy Folliard, OP, formerly Sr. Margaret Michaella Folliard, died April 1 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian. She was 93 and in her 74th year in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sr. Folliard was born in Chicago to Michael and Margaret (O’Connor) Folliard. She earned degrees from Siena Heights (College) University in Adrian, Loyola University in Chicago, the University of Michigan, and the University of Chicago.

Sr. Folliard spend 43 years ministering in education in Illinois, Texas and Michigan, including St. Joseph in St. Joseph (1945-46); St. John High School in Ypsilanti (1960-63); and as a professor at Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian (1963-68). In 1968, she was elected to the General Council of the Adrian Dominican Sisters and served in that position for six years.

A funeral Mass was celebrated April 5 in St. Catherine Chapel in Adrian. Rite of Committal was to be in the Congregation cemetery.
