MACOMB Nine-time Grammy-nominated Catholic vocal artist Matt Maher will perform some of his top hit songs Oct. 9 during a special concert at a Macomb County parish.

St. Kieran Parish in Shelby Township and St. Isidore Parish in Macomb are teaming up to bring Maher and his contemporary Christian worship music to St. Isidore Parish for the special, one-night-only performance.

The 7 p.m. concert is expected to quickly sell out at the parish, which is located at 18201 23 Mile Road, Macomb.

Tickets start at $25 and can be secured at either St. Isidore or St. Kieran's websites.

Maher is among the best-known Catholic recording artists in the world, having performed at various Catholic events, including World Youth Day, the National Eucharistic Congress and others. His hit songs include "Lord, I Need You," "Your Grace is Enough," and "Christ is Risen."

The two Macomb County parishes say the concert will be part of an annual event series, through which they hope to "provide parishioners and the larger community and opportunity to experience some of the best-known artists in Christian music close to home," according to a news release.

"We believe that providing people with these events will continue to strengthen their faith, open new doors of prayerful experiences, share our common faith with other Christians and reintroduce people who have been away from the faith an opportunity to encounter Christ in and through the Church," the parishes said in the release.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to local charities.
