Praying for those studying to become priests for the Archdiocese of Detroit

Current and new seminarians studying for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Detroit pose with Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron outside the Jesuits’ Manresa Retreat Center in Bloomfield Hills.

The Nov. 3 vocations supplement asked readers to pray for seminarians at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. However, a handful of seminarians were inadvertently left off our list. As a result, we are republishing the original article, which now includes all of the seminarians studying for Detroit. Please keep them, and all discerning a vocation, in your prayers.

Detroit — Without the sacraments, the Catholic Church would cease to be the Catholic Church. And without priests, there would be no sacraments.

It’s with this in mind that The Michigan Catholic urges readers to pray for vocations, especially in light of National Vocations Week, which was Nov. 5-11.

In a time when priests are needed even more than ever, 38 men are in the process of answering that call, discerning their future as priests of the Archdiocese of Detroit at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.

We pray for all those discerning a vocation in the Church as consecrated men and women, deacons and in various lay ministries. But we pray in a special way for those discerning a call to the priesthood. Please join us in praying for:
