PHOTOS: The Church awakes to the sound of the Holy Spirt with 'Songs of Freedom'

Songs of Freedom: Celebrating the Sacred Music of African American Composers by Dr. Williams S. Harrison was performed on Feb. 22 at Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Detroit.

DETROIT — The movement of the Holy Spirit was heard loud and clear Saturday evening when Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Detroit was filled with song and music. Dr. Williams S. Harrison led the Feb. 22 performance of "Songs of Freedom: Celebrating the Sacred Music of African American Composers" at the east-side Detroit church. The event was organized by the Archdiocese of Detroit’s Black Catholic Ministry and featured sacred choral music and sacred music for strings.
