DETROIT — Catholic families are known to be big. But the entire Catholic family is bigger than most people realize.

High school students and their families were invited to meet their extended family members in the faith April 18, as the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament hosted an interactive outdoor exhibit, “Walk Among the Saints,” featuring live-size presentations and a self-guided tour of Detroit’s mother church.

Each stop along the tour featured a different saint, including St. Augustine and St. Monica, Blessed Solanus Casey, St. Maximilian Kolbe and others. Participants were given booklets guiding them through the one-hour exhibit, in addition to a presentation about the cathedral itself and special musical accompaniment.

Participants then were invited to pray inside the cathedral, reflecting on the lives of the saints and meditating on reflections from Pope Francis.
