Mitch's Friday Fish Fry Review: St. Michael the Archangel, Livonia

LIVONIA — Mitch Koleczko has been reviewing fish fries on his Facebook and Instagram page, Mitch's Friday Fish Fry Reviews, for nine Lents. This year, Koleczko — who has built a small but devoted following as the "fish fry guy" in Metro Detroit — will share his reviews, always in good spirit, with Detroit Catholic.

Happy Friday everybody! Fish Fry #54 took place at St. Michael the Archangel Parish/School in Livonia, located at 11441 Hubbard Street. The church and the school are located right next to each other. The fish fry takes place in the school activity hall/cafeteria.

When I arrived it was already steady and busy, and they stayed busy and steady the entire time. Head over to the entrance (there are flags outside to direct you — the entrance with the four doors). You will order and pay at the table as you enter. There are two lines available, one for carry out and the other for dine in (cash or check). After you pay, follow the line into the cafeteria. You will grab a plate and your food is served cafeteria style. Once you get your food, grab utensils and condiments. Find yourself a seat; plenty of tables were set up. Enjoy meeting new friends. Carry out orders are available.

Food was delicious ... menu was simple with some good choices. Mac 'n' cheese, green beans, baked potato and french fries also available. This fish fry is "all you can eat," so help yourself to another serving. Check out the picture of the menu for all of the options. Dessert was included; they were serving ice cream cups (chocolate and vanilla).

Water, pop and coffee are available and included with the meal. Beer and wine was available for $5, but only for this fish fry.

Thank you, St. Michael the Archangel, for your hospitality. Everyone I met was very friendly and welcoming. Thanks to Kate Barczuk for spending a few minutes with me. She's been leading the fish fry for 13 years. This fish fry will average between 600-1,000 meals. A special thanks to the students ... they were very polite and worked diligently. Great job on all of the hard work you do. If you're in the Livonia area, head over and support them.

Thanks again for reading. Please share, follow and like the main Fish Fry page.
