Deacons Mabee, Carlin and Pellican share how God is working in the lives of the newly ordained

DETROIT — On Saturday, April 13, the Archdiocese of Detroit was six times blessed as six seminarians from Sacred Heart Major Seminary were ordained to the transitional diaconate.

During a Mass attended by friends, family and well-wishers, Auxiliary Bishop Robert Fisher ordained Deacons Colin Fricke, David Pellican, John Carlin, Andrew Mabee, Mark Tibai and David Brokke, SOLT, anointing them and calling them to holy orders.

The new deacons will spend the summer in service at parishes around the Archdiocese of Detroit before heading back to class in the fall for their final year of formation before hopefully being ordained priests next year.

This week, Detroit Catholic caught up with three of the new deacons for a wide-ranging interview about their vocation stories, seminary life and the surprises God has in store for them.

Listen to the interview with Deacons Pellican, Carlin and Mabee here.
