May They Rest in Peace: Sr. Mary Margaret 'Sis' Beh, OP

Sr. Mary Margaret “Sis” Beh, OP, formerly known as Sister Ann Pauline, died on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian. She was 101 years of age and in the 82nd year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sister Mary Margaret was born in Birmingham, Michigan, to Joseph and Margaret (Mihm) Beh. She graduated from St. Mary High School in Royal Oak, Michigan, and received a bachelor of philosophy degree in fine arts and a master of fine arts degree in painting from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian.

Sister ministered for 33 years in elementary and secondary education in Adrian and Detroit, Michigan; Cleveland, Ohio; and Chicago and Wilmette, Illinois. She was a faculty member of three Congregation institutions: two years at Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette; 14 years at Dominican High School in Detroit; and 10 years at Hoban Dominican High School in Cleveland. Sister also ministered in pastoral care for 10 years, and was a patient representative for nine years at Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital in Santa Cruz, California. For six years she was coordinator of pastoral care at Holy Cross Parish in Santa Cruz. Sister became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in Adrian in 2010.

Sister Mary Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Joseph Conrad Beh and Robert Francis Beh. She is survived by a sister, Pauline Daub (Henry) of Salem, Oregon, loving nieces and nephews and her Adrian Dominican Sisters.

Due to COVID-19 mitigation protocols, the Dominican Life Center is closed to all guests or visitors until further notice. All are welcome to participate in Sister’s wake and funeral via live stream at http://www.adriandominicans.org/LiveStream.aspx

The Vigil Prayer will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, November 4, 2021, in St. Catherine Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Catherine Chapel at 10:30 am Friday, November 5, 2021. Prayers of Committal will be held in the Congregation Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Adrian Dominican Sisters, 1257 East Siena Heights Drive, Adrian, MI, 49221.
