Sr. Clement Stine, CSJ

Sister Clement received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Nazareth College. She began ministry at St. Francis Home for Boys in Detroit and Villa St. Anthony in Comstock where she worked as a dormitorian and prefect. She then taught in several schools of the Congregation including St. Augustine in Kalamazoo, St. Cyril of Jerusalem in Taylor and St. Joan of Arc in St. Clair Shores. When she retired from the teaching profession in 1979 she worked as a Nurses Aide at St. John Hospital in Detroit. From 1995 to 1999 she provided home health care and ministered to her brother, Fr. Stine. After his death Sister Clement retired from full-time ministry, but she volunteered at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren and she assisted Sister Verenice McQuade when necessary.

Sister Clement was a very pleasant, loving, gentle woman who was most generous with her time and talents. She was a skilled seamstress who used her talents not only in giving to others but, with a twinkle in her eyes, teaching her skills to enthusiastic students. Her tremendous love for God was very evident in the manner in which she ministered to her brother and to others as care-giver for many years. Sister Clement’s eager and enthusiastic spirit was a blessing to all who knew her and she was dearly loved by all. She was most grateful to her family, CSJ community and friends, especially her St. Joan of Arc knitting/crocheting group for their love and support over the years. May she now enter the joy of heaven and the arms of her beloved God.

A live-streamed Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Fr.
