Our brother Neil McCormick entered eternal life on May 7, 2024, at the age of 67. Neil was the son of the late Anne and late Bernard McCormick and brother of the late Bernie McCormick.
He is survived by his brother Patrick McCormick and sister Mary Ann McCormick.
Neil dedicated his life to service of the Church in the Archdiocese of Detroit, working for the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) for many years. His profound legacy was his commitment to Mass for Shut-Ins. In his teens he began lectoring and ultimately took on the role of coordinator. For almost 50 years Neil worked tirelessly to reach out to those unable to attend Mass in person. For him this was a ministry that came from his faith and his heart.
The funeral for Neil will be held on Saturday, May 25, at St. Blase Church, 12151 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, 48312. We gather at 9 a.m.; the funeral liturgy will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Condolences may be sent to his family care of St. Blase Church.
