John Robert Schaden passed on from this life on Sept. 15, 2024, at the age of 88.
John Robert Schaden was born on May 30, 1936, and ordained a priest on June 2, 1962. He served in the Archdiocese of Detroit at St. Eugene Parish, Detroit; Our Lady of Good Counsel, Plymouth; and St. Edith Parish, Livonia. He left active ministry in July of 1999.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, with a vigil service at 6 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap Street, Northville, Michigan. He will lie in state at 10:30 a.m. until the time of his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Lake Drive, Northville, Michigan. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, Michigan.
