May They Rest in Peace: Fr. Timothy Mock, CMM

Fr. Timothy Mock, CMM, entered eternal life on Sept. 12, 2022, at the age of 96.

Fr. Mock was born on Aug. 6, 1926. He joined the Congregation of the Mariannhill Missionaries on Aug. 15, 1946. He was ordained a priest in Aberdeen, South Dakota, on May 25, 1952. Father’s first assignment was to Catholic Central High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania, 1955-1958. In 1958, he was transferred to the Mariannhill Monastery in the Archdiocese of Detroit and ministered in a few of the parishes within the Archdiocese.

Fr. Mock was assigned to mission work in South Africa for a number of years before returning to the Mariannhill Mission Society in Dearborn Heights until 1998. During his time in Dearborn Heights, he assisted at St. Albert the Great Parish. In 2017, due to a stroke, Fr. Mock became a resident of Marywood Nursing Care Center, Livonia, where he lived until the time of his death.

Fr. Mock is predeceased by his parents, Valentine Mock and Magdalena Mock (Nee Wolf), and all nine of his siblings.

Visitation took place at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren in Dearborn Heights Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 18. Fr. Mock’s funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m., at the Mariannhill Chapel, 23715 Ann Arbor Trail, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48127.
