Fr. Ronald W. Kurzawa passed from this life on November 17, 2024, at the age of 86.
Fr. Kurzawa was born on Nov. 17, 1938, in Detroit, and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 6, 1964.
Fr. Kurzawa served as pastor of St. Clement of Rome Parish, Romeo (1973-82); Precious Blood Parish, Detroit (1982-92); St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, St. Clair Shores (1992-2002); St. Aidan Parish, Livonia (2002-08); and as parochial vicar at St. Cunegunda Parish, Detroit (1964-68), and St. Bartholomew Parish, Detroit (1968-73). Fr. Kurzawa entered senior status on July 1, 2008.
Visitation will take place at Wasik Funeral Home, 11470 13 Mile Road Warren, Michigan 48093 on Sunday, Nov. 24, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m.
Fr. Kurzawa will lie in state at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, 21201 East 13 Mile Road, St. Clair Shores Michigan 48082 on Monday, Nov. 25 at 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
Fr. Kurzawa was predeceased by his parents Sigmund and Helen (Kopas) Kurzawa. He is survived by his siblings, Marlene (Lawrence) Galka, Judith (the late Roy) DeRoche and Richard (Micky Mack) Kurzawa; as well as many nephews and nieces.
