May They Rest in Peace: Fr. Kenneth R. Kaucheck

Fr. Kenneth R. Kaucheck passed from this life on July 18, 2024, at the age of 77.

Fr. Kaucheck was born on Oct. 14, 1946, in Highland Park, Michigan. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on Feb. 28, 1976.

Fr. Kaucheck served as parochial vicar at Guardian Angels Parish, Clawson (1976-77); Sacred Heart Parish, Dearborn (1977-80); and Christ the King Parish, Detroit (1980-82); pastor of Epiphany Parish, Detroit (1982-85); St. Anastasia Parish, Troy (associate pastor from 1992-96, pastor from 1996-2004); Holy Family Parish, Detroit (2006); Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Grosse Pointe Woods (2004-08); St. James Parish, Ferndale (2008-09); and St. Mary Parish, Royal Oak (2008-09). In addition to his parish assignments, Fr. Kaucheck served as campus minister at Gabriel Richard Campus Ministry in Dearborn (1980-85), and on the Metropolitan Tribunal (1983-85, 1990-92).

Fr. Kaucheck is predeceased by his parents, Madeline (née Quinlan) and Jacob (Jack) Kaucheck, and his brother Larry Kaucheck. He is survived by his sister-in-law Ann Marie Kaucheck, his niece Kendra Goodrich (William) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews from both the Quinlan and Kaucheck families. Visitation will be held at St. Anastasia Parish located at 4571 John R. Rd., Troy, Michigan 48085, starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.

Visitation will continue at St. Anastasia Parish on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Fr. Kaucheck’s burial will take place the following day, at St. Mary’s Church in Maidstone, Ontario, Canada.
