May They Rest in Peace: Deacon Valere Buyle

Deacon Valere Buyle passed on from this life on Nov. 14, 2024, at the age of 83.

Deacon Buyle is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan, his siblings Ken (Kathy), Jon (Tim), and Rayna, his children Michael, Theresa (Stan), Jeff (Nancy), Sandra (Mike), and Jenny (Nick), as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He began his education at Guardian Angels grade school, continuing on to Notre Dame High School, and graduating from Wayne State University with a degree in English. Being of strong faith, he completed his religious studies in 1992 at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, being ordained to the permanent diaconate on Oct. 17, 1992.

Deacon Buyle served his first diaconal assignment at St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Clair Shores, followed by assignments at St. Edmund in Warren, St. Jude in Detroit, St. Hubert in Harrison Township, and then returned to St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Clair Shores until he retired in 2023.

In his role as deacon, Deacon Buyle had the honor of baptizing and marrying several of his grandchildren. He retired from Chrysler, where he worked as a systems analyst for more than 20 years. With his charitable spirit, he joined multiple groups including the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Stephen's Ministry, and MCREST.

Deacon Buyle participated in many hobbies throughout his life including playing football, ice hockey, and wallyball, coaching his kids' baseball and football teams, taking many camping, canoeing, and motorcycle trips, and finally spending summer days up north with his family in Sugar Springs.

Deacon Buyle's funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, at 12 noon, at St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Clair Shores, 21201 E. 13 Mile Road, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48082. In state will begin at 10 a.m.
