Deacon Lee A. Smith passed on from this life on June 22, 2024, at the age of 89. Deacon Smith is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta, three children and four grandchildren.
Deacon Smith was born Aug. 16, 1934, and was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on Oct. 2, 1999.
Deacon Smith served his first diaconal assignment at St. Angela in Roseville, followed by assignments at St. Athanasius in Roseville and St. Isaac Jogues in St. Clair Shores. Deacon Smith retired in 2020.
Deacon Smith's funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Isaac Jogues in St. Clair Shores, 21100 Madison Street, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081. In state will begin at 12 noon.
