Deacon George Posavetz passed on from this life on Sept. 3, 2021, at the age of 90.

Deacon Posavetz was born on March 12, 1931 and ordained a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Detroit on Oct. 27, 1990. Married to his wife, Mildred, he served at St. Mark Parish, Warren, from his ordination until his retirement in 2018. Mildred Posavetz died in January 2021. The couple had five children, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Deacon Posavetz’s funeral Mass was held at St. Mark Parish in Warren on Saturday, Sept. 11th at 10:30 a.m.
