Deacon Edward Wilson Jr. passed from this life on Dec. 2, 2024, at the age of 83. Deacon Wilson is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen, two children, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Deacon Wilson was born on March 13, 1941, and was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on Oct. 11, 1986.
Deacon Wilson served his first diaconal assignment at St. Ephrem in Sterling Heights from the time of his ordination until 1991. He then served at St. Paul of Tarsus in Clinton Township until his retirement in 2021. Beginning in 2006, he and his wife had a second residence in Ocala, Fla., where he served in the Diocese of Orlando during their seasonal time there. More recently, he resided in Lawrenceville, Ga.
Deacon Wilson’s funeral Mass will take place on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at 10 a.m., at St. Paul of Tarsus, 41300 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038. In-state will begin at 9:30 a.m.
