Deacon Charles Roger O’Donnell passed on from this life on Aug. 10, 2021, at the age of 86.
Deacon O’Donnell was born on May 10, 1935, and ordained a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Detroit on October 4, 2003. He served at Church of the Divine Child, Dearborn, from his ordination until his retirement in 2018. Deacon O’Donnell was also a chaplain with Angela Hospice Home Care for multiple years.
Deacon O’Donnell’s funeral Mass was held at Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn on Thursday, Aug. 12.
Deacon O’Donnell was the beloved husband of Beverly, dear father of Patricia (Dennis) Griffin, Cheryl (James) Soraghan, Brian (Julia) and Bridget (Bill) Kujansuu. Grandfather of Sinead, Aidan, Claire, Kiera, Liam, Molly, Colin, Sean, Catherine, Madeline, Anna, Ryan and Jack. Brother of Mary Ellen, Bill, Patrick, Rosie and Ed.
Visitation and rosary for Deacon O’Donnell was at Santeiu Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster Road, Garden City, MI 48135 on Wednesday, Aug. 11.
Deacon O’Donnell’s funeral Mass was held at Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn (1055 N Silvery Ln., Dearborn, MI 48128) on Thursday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m.
