LIVONIA — Fr. Patrick Collins, CM, of Dublin, Ireland, a world-renowned Vincentian priest, exorcist, healer, evangelist and prolific author, will present a Lenten mission themed "The Healing Power of Christ for Ourselves, the Church and the World" at two local parishes this week and next.

Fr. Collins is scheduled to give a series of three talks starting tonight at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Livonia. His talks on March 25, 26 and 27 will be from 7-8 p.m. each evening.

In addition, Fr. Collins will present a mission at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Newport on April 1-2, from 7-8 p.m. both nights in the school gym.

Fr. Collins also will visit Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth and St. Valentine Parish in Redford during his stay. Several years ago, Fr. Collins resided at St. Valentine while earning a post-graduate degree in evangelization at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit.

Ireland’s popular television program, The Late, Late Show with James Corden, recently hosted Fr. Collins, who spoke about deliverance ministry and his newest book, Freedom from Evil Spirits. Excerpts of the interview on YouTube received 27,000 hits in two days and his book sold out. Fr. Collins is in demand around the globe as a speaker, healer, ecumenist and trainer of evangelizers.

At his Lenten missions, Fr. Collins will discuss the need for Christians to allow themselves to know the real Jesus, and the need for personal holiness. He’ll also talk about moving beyond anger and hurt, and how to read the signs of the times in the state of the world.

Fr. Bill Tindall, pastor of St. Michael, and Fr. Henry Rebello, pastor of St. Charles, expect large turnouts at their respective parishes.

“I know Fr. Pat will draw a big crowd. He’ll be a hit here when he comes,” Fr. Rebello said. “Fr. Pat is a great guy, and very knowledgeable about our Catholic faith. I think people will really benefit from what he says. His mission is going to be really good. People need to hear more about the healing power of Christ.”
