DETROIT — More than 80 choir members sang, clapped and praised the Lord to kick off Black Catholic History Month with a concert Nov. 3 at Sacred Heart Church in Detroit.

The annual Black Catholic Ministries Gospel Choir Concert featured musicians from various Catholic parishes and organizations throughout southeast Michigan. The theme for this year's concert was "Wonderful Is Your Name," taken from Psalm 8, "O Lord, our Lord, how glorious is your name in all the earth!"
