Archbishop blesses Catholic Charities’ Center for the Works of Mercy (PHOTOS)

DETROIT — Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron visited the Center for the Works of Mercy following Mass on June 6, the feast of Corpus Christi. 

The archbishop formally blessed Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan’s newest location on Woodward Avenue. 

The Center for the Works of Mercy is home to a clothing closet, food pantry, case manager to navigate clients through social service systems, the Project Hope program for helping at-need mothers, the Wayne County Jail and Outreach Ministry, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Malta Dental and Medical Clinic, Hope Ministry and a community space for the local neighborhood.
