Brother Rice wins seventh straight Michigan lacrosse crown

Detroit -- Since the Michigan High School Athletic Association started a playoffs for lacrosse seven years ago, Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice has dominated.

Things didn’t change this year, either, as the Warriors netted yet another state lacrosse title in Division I. Brother Rice walloped Ada Forest Hills Eastern-Nothern by a 15-4 score on June 11 to make it to seven straight state trophies.

On the Birmingham Seaholm field, the Warriors hopped out to a quick lead with two goals in the first minute of action, coming from Sergio Perkovic and Riley Kennedy. Brother Rice would go on to tally 10 scores from six different players before Eastern-Northern would get on the board.

Riley Kennedy lead the way with four goals, scoring one in each quarter of the game. Perkovic also scored a second goal in the second quarter.

Adding more goals for Brother Rice were Will Meter (2), KC Kennedy (2), Andy Hebden, MacKenzie MacEachern (2), Henry Nelson and JP Forester.

Christian Eckert turned away six shots in front of the Warriors net.
