Archdiocese of Detroit clergy appointments: Oct. 30, 2023

Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:

Fr. Joseph Barron, PES, with the concurrence of his provincial superior, Fr. Humberto Palomino, PES, appointed Moderator of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, Roseville; St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, St. Clair Shores; Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Clair Shores; Holy Innocents-St. Barnabas Parish, Roseville; St. Isaac Jogues Parish, St. Clair Shores; that form SERF Vicariate Family 1, effective Oct. 24, 2023. Fr. Barron is currently serving as a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor the aforementioned family of parishes, serving primarily at St. Isaac Jogues Parish, St. Clair Shores.

Fr. Caetano Crasto, SAC, with the concurrence of his superior, Fr. Roque Gonsalves, SAC, provincial rector, appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor St. Genevieve – St. Maurice Parish, Livonia; St. Valentine Parish, Redford; Our Lady of Loretto Parish, Redford; St. John XXIII Parish, Redford, that form Mother of Divine Love Family of Parishes, effective Nov. 1, 2023. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Crasto will serve primarily at Our Lady of Loretto Parish, Redford and St. Valentine Parish, Redford, under the mentorship of Fr. Socorro Fernandes, SAC. Fr. Crasto previously served outside of the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Canon Stephen Sharpe, ICKSP, with the concurrence of his provincial superior, Canon Matthew Talarico, ICKSP, appointed parochial vicar of St. Joseph Shrine and Parish, Detroit, effective Nov. 1, 2023. Canon Sharpe previously served outside of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
