Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:
Fr. Sahaya Arul Alex, SAC, with the concurrence of his provincial rector, Reverend Dr. Antony Dhas Prakasam, SAC, to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica Parish, Royal Oak; St. Justin – St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Hazel Park; St. Mary Parish, Royal Oak; St. Vincent Ferrer Parish, Madison Heights; that form South Oakland Vicariate Family 4, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Arul will serve primarily at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica Parish, Royal Oak. Fr. Arul currently serves outside of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Fr. Michael Anagbogu, with the concurrence of his bishop, Most Reverend Peter Ebere Okpaleke, bishop of Ekwulobia, to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor St. Anne Parish, Monroe; St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Newport; St. John the Baptist Parish, Monroe; St. Mary Parish, Monroe; St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Monroe; that form Monroe Vicariate Family 2, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Anagbogu will serve primarily at St. Mary Parish, Monroe and St. John the Baptist Parish, Monroe. Fr. Anagbogu currently serves outside of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Fr. John Hedges to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor St. Aloysius Parish, Romulus; St. Anthony Parish, Belleville; St. Stephen Parish, New Boston; that form West Wayne Vicariate Family 2, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Hedges will serve primarily at St. Stephen Parish, New Boston. Fr. Hedges currently serves as pastor of St. Stephen Parish, New Boston. Fr. Hedges will also serve as Moderator of this Family.
Fr. Dominic Macioce to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor Christ Our Light Parish, Troy; Guardian Angels Parish, Clawson; St. Anastasia Parish, Troy; St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Troy; St. Lucy (Croatian) Parish, Troy; that form South Oakland Vicariate Family 1, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Macioce will serve primarily at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Troy. Fr. Fr. John Vandenakker, CC, with the concurrence of his general superior, Very Reverend Roger Vandenakker, CC, to be appointed Weekend-Support at Our Lady of the Woods Parish, Woodhaven; Sacred Heart Parish, Grosse Ile; St. Cyprian Parish, Riverview; St. Joseph Parish, Trenton; St. Roch Parish, Flat Rock; St. Timothy Parish, Trenton; that form Downriver Vicariate Family 3, effective July 1, 2022. This will be in addition to his continuing faculty position at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. Fr. Vandenakker currently serves on faculty at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.
