Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:
Fr. Brendan McCarrick, SAC, with the concurrence of his Provincial Minister, Very Reverend Liam McClarey, S.C.A., appointed Temporary Family-Administrator to the In Solidum team of priests who, with the other priests of the team, will serve the newly formed Downriver Vicariate Family 2 (Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Lincoln Park; Our Lady of the Scapular Parish, Wyandotte; St. Pius X Parish, Southgate; St. Vincent Pallotti Parish, Wyandotte), effective July 1, 2021. Father McCarrick currently serves as Administrator of St. Vincent Pallotti Parish, Wyandotte.
Fr. Charles Mmaduekwe, with the concurrence of his Bishop, Most Reverend Peter Ebere Okpaleke, appointed Family-Parochial Vicar to the In Solidum team of priests who, with the other priests of the team, will serve the newly formed Downriver Vicariate Family 1 (St. Andre Bessette Parish, Ecorse; Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Taylor; SS. Andrew and Benedict Parish, Detroit; St. Alfred Parish, Taylor; St. Constance Parish, Taylor; St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Allen Park; St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Melvindale), effective July 1, 2021. Father Mmaduekwe previously served in the Diocese of Ekwulobia, Nigeria.
Fr. Salvatore Palazzolo appointed Tribunal Canonist / Defender of the Bond in addition to his assignment as Weekend Sacramental Assistant to the Blue Water Vicariate Family 1, consisting of Holy Family Parish, Memphis; St. Augustine Parish, Richmond; and St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish, Armada; effective October 1, 2021. Father Palazzolo is currently finishing his studies at Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
Fr. Hendrico Rebello, S.A.C., with the concurrence of his Provincial, Very Reverend Valerian Charles Fernandes, S.A.C., appointed Family-Pastor to the In Solidum team of priests who, with the other priests of the team, will serve the newly formed Monroe Vicariate Family 2 (St. Anne Parish, Monroe; St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Newport; St. John the Baptist Parish, Monroe; St. Mary Parish, Monroe; St. Michael Parish, Monroe), effective July 1, 2021. Father Rebellocurrently serves as Pastor of St. Anne Parish, Monroe and St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Newport.
Fr. Michael Wilkes appointed to serve as chaplain at Ascension St. John Hospital, Detroit, effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Wilkes is returning to active ministry.
