Archdiocese of Detroit clergy appointments: July 5, 2022

Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:

Fr. Matthew Ellis granted a temporary personal leave of absence effective July 1, 2022. Fr. Ellis is currently serving as a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor St. Isidore Parish, Macomb; St. Francis of Assisi – St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Ray Township; St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Shelby Township; that form North Macomb Family of Parishes 2.

Fr. Jan Michalski, S.Chr., with the concurrence of his provincial superior, Very Reverend Jacek Walkiewicz, S.Chr., to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, Sterling Heights; SS. Cyril and Methodius Parish, sterling Heights; St. Jane Frances de Chantal Parish, Sterling Heights; St. Rene Goupil Parish, Sterling Heights; that form Central Macomb Vicariate Family 2, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Michalski will serve primarily at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, Sterling Heights. Father Michalski currently serves as Pastor of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, Sterling Heights, and Temporary Administrator of St. Florian Parish, Hamtramck.

Fr. Tomasz Pietrzak, S.Chr., with the concurrence of his provincial superior, Very Reverend Jacek Walkiewicz, S.Chr., to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor Mother of Divine Mercy Parish, Detroit; Our Lady Queen of Apostles Parish, Hamtramck; St. Florian Parish, Hamtramck; St. Hyacinth Parish, Detroit; St. John Paul II Parish, Detroit; that form Genesis Vicariate Family 1, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Pietrzak will serve primarily at St. Florian Parish, Hamtramck. Father Pietrzak previously served outside of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
