Archdiocese of Detroit clergy appointments: Feb. 21, 2022

Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:

A new Family of Parishes will be formed, effective July 1, 2022, comprised of Holy Redeemer Parish, Detroit; St. Cunegunda Parish, Detroit; St. Gabriel Parish, Detroit. Priests of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity will care for the parishes of this new Family of Parishes and will use the One Pastor model. Southwest Vicariate Family 1 from which these parishes will be drawn to create the new family will continue under the care of those same Priests In Solidum, without change to the designated Moderator In Solidum.

Fr. Dennis Walsh, SOLT, with the concurrence of his superior, Fr. Peter Marsalek, SOLT, general priest servant, to be appointed to serve in the One Pastor Family Model of Holy Redeemer Parish, Detroit; St. Cunegunda Parish, Detroit; St. Gabriel Parish, Detroit, that will form the new Family of Parishes, effective July 1, 2022. These parishes are currently in the Southwest Vicariate Family 1. Father Walsh currently serves as a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Detroit; Holy Cross (Hungarian) Parish, Detroit; Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Detroit; Most Holy Trinity Parish, Detroit; Basilica of Ste. Anne Parish, Detroit; St. Francis D’Assisi – St. Hedwig Parish, Detroit; St. Gabriel Parish, Detroit, that form Southwest Vicariate Family 1.

Fr. Anthony Blount, SOLT, with the concurrence of his superior, Fr. Peter Marsalek, SOLT, general priest servant, to be appointed to serve as a member of Holy Redeemer Parish, Detroit; St. Cunegunda Parish, Detroit; St. Gabriel Parish, Detroit, that form the new Family of Parishes, effective July 1, 2022. These parishes are currently in the Southwest Vicariate Family 1. Father Blount currently serves as a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Detroit; Holy Cross (Hungarian) Parish, Detroit; Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Detroit; Most Holy Trinity Parish, Detroit; Basilica of Ste. Anne Parish, Detroit; St. Francis D’Assisi – St. Hedwig Parish, Detroit; St. Gabriel Parish, Detroit, that form Southwest Vicariate Family 1.

Fr. John Dumas, to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor Immaculate Conception Parish, Ira Township; Our Lady on the River Parish, Marine City; St. Mary Parish, St. Clair; St. Mary Queen of Creation Parish, New Baltimore, that form the Blue Water Vicariate Family 2, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Dumas will serve primarily at Our Lady on the River Parish, Marine City. Fr. Dumas currently serves as pastor of St. Aloysius Parish, Romulus.

Fr. Zbigniew Grankowski, to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor St. Alphonsus – St. Clement Parish, Dearborn; St. Barbara Parish, Dearborn; St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, Dearborn; St. Maria Goretti Parish, Dearborn Heights, that form West Wayne Vicariate Family 3, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Grankowski will serve primarily at St. Barbara Parish, Dearborn. Fr. Grankowski currently serves as pastor of St. Barbara Parish, Dearborn and St. Cunegunda Parish, Detroit.

Fr. John Kiselica, to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor St. Malachy Parish, Sterling Heights; St. Paul of Tarsus Parish, Clinton Township; St. Ronald Parish, Clinton Township; St. Thecla Parish, Clinton Township; that form Central Macomb Vicariate Family 5, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Kiselica will serve primarily at St. Paul of Tarsus Parish, Clinton Township. Fr. Kiselica currently serves as pastor of St. Anthony Parish, Belleville.

Fr. Kevin Roelant, to be appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor St. Malachy Parish, Sterling Heights; St. Paul of Tarsus Parish, Clinton Township; St. Ronald Parish, Clinton Township; St. Thecla Parish, Clinton Township; that form Central Macomb Vicariate Family 5, effective July 1, 2022. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Roelant will serve primarily at St. Thecla Parish, Clinton Township. Fr. Roelant currently serves as a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Holy Cross (Hungarian) Parish, Detroit; Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Detroit; Most Holy Trinity Parish, Detroit; Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Detroit; Basilica of Ste. Anne Parish, Detroit; St. Francis D’Assisi – St. Hedwig Parish, Detroit; St. Gabriel Parish, Detroit, that form Southwest Vicariate Family 1.
