Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:
Fr. Kishore Beezam, SAC, with the concurrence of his Provincial, Fr. Arogyadas Kottana, SAC, appointed associate pastor at Holy Family Parish, Memphis; St. Augustine Parish, Richmond; and St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish, Armada, effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Beezam currently serves in the Gloria Dei Region of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate.
Deacon Zaid Chabaan, to be appointed associate pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Plymouth, effective July 1, 2021. Deacon Chabaan will be ordained to the priesthood on May 22, 2021.
Fr. James Grau, appointed administrator of St. John Vianney Parish, Shelby Township, effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Grau currently serves as priest secretary to Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron.
Fr. David Lesniak, appointed pastor of St. Maria Goretti Parish, Dearborn Heights, effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Lesniak currently serves as pastor of St. Timothy Parish, Trenton.
Fr. Andrew Mabee, appointed family-parochial vicar to the In Solidum team of priests who, with the other priests of the team, will serve the newly formed South Oakland Vicariate Family 3 (Sacred Heart Parish, Auburn Hills; St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Pontiac; St. Hugo of the Hills Parish, Bloomfield Hills; St. Thomas More Parish, Troy), serving primarily at St. Damien of Molokai Parish under the supervision of Fr. Jacob VanAssche, effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Mabee currently serves as associate pastor of St. John Fisher Chapel University Parish, Auburn Hills.
Fr. Craig Marion, appointed family-administrator to the In Solidum team of priests who, with the other priests of the team, will serve the newly formed South Oakland Vicariate Family 3 (Sacred Heart Parish, Auburn Hills; St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Pontiac; St. Hugo of the Hills Parish, Bloomfield Hills; St. Thomas More Parish, Troy), effective July 1, 2021, until Aug. 31, 2021, whereupon Fr. Marion will then be appointed family-administrator to the In Solidum team of priests who, with the other priests of the team, will serve the newly formed Lakes Vicariate Family 1 (Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Waterford; St. Anne Parish, Ortonville; St. Daniel Parish, Clarkston; St. Rita Parish, Holly), effective Sept. 1, 2021. Fr. Marion currently serves as associate pastor of St. Andrew Parish, Rochester.
Fr. John Nedumcheril, with the concurrence of his bishop, Most Reverend Dr. Samuel Mar Irenios Kaattukallil, appointed family-pastor to the In Solidum team of priests who, with the other priests of the team, will serve the newly formed Downriver Vicariate Family 3 (St. Joseph Parish, Trenton; Our Lady of the Woods Parish, Woodhaven; Sacred Heart Parish, Grosse Ile; St. Cyprian Parish, Riverview; St. Roch Parish, Flat Rock; St. Timothy Parish, Trenton), effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Nedumcheril currently serves as associate pastor of St. Augustine Parish, Richmond, and Holy Family Parish, Memphis.
Fr. Salvatore Palazzolo, appointed weekend sacramental assistant at Holy Family Parish, Memphis; St. Augustine Parish, Richmond; and St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish, Armada, effective Sept. 1, 2021. Fr. Palazzolo is currently finishing his studies at Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
Fr. Walter J. Ptak, appointed pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Farmington, effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Ptak currently serves as pastor of St. Maria Goretti Parish, Dearborn Heights.
Fr. Peter Ryan, SJ, with the concurrence of his provincial, Fr. Joseph M. O’Keefe, S J, appointed family-weekend associate to the In Solidum team of priests who, with the other priests of the team, will serve the newly formed North Macomb Vicariate Family 2 (St. Francis of Assisi-St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Ray Township; St. Isidore Parish, Macomb Township; St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Shelby Township), effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Ryan currently serves on faculty at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.
