Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:
Fr. Jeffrey Allan appointed weekend priest support to the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Christ the Redeemer Parish, Lake Orion; St. John Fisher Chapel University Parish, Auburn Hills; St. Joseph Parish, Lake Orion; that form Paint Creek Vicariate Family 2, effective Sept. 1, 2023. This will be in addition to his continuing responsibilities as Chaplain at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital. Fr. Allan is currently chaplain at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital and Weekend Priest Support at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Grosse Pointe Woods.
Fr. Sahaya Arul Alex, SAC, with the concurrence of his local superior, Fr. Suresh Rajaian, SAC, appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor St. Kieran Parish, Shelby Township; St. Lawrence Parish, Utica; St. Matthias Parish, Sterling Heights; that form North Macomb Family of Parishes 1, effective July 1, 2023. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Alex will live and serve primarily at St. Lawrence Parish, Utica, under the mentorship of Fr. Joseph Mallia. Fr. Alex currently serves as Priest In Solidum at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica Parish, Royal Oak; St. Vincent Ferrer Parish, Madison Heights; St. Justin-St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Hazel Park; St. Mary Parish, Royal Oak; that form South Oakland Vicariate Family 4, primarily serving at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica Parish, Royal Oak.
Fr. Paul Ballien appointed administrator of Resurrection Parish, Canton; in addition to his responsibilities as Pastor of St. John Neumann Parish, Canton, effective July 1, 2023. These parishes are part of the Northwest Wayne Vicariate Family 4. Fr. Ballien currently serves as pastor of St. John Neumann Parish, Canton.
Fr. Paul Czarnota appointed weekend priest support at SS. Peter and Paul Parish, North Branch; Sacred Heart Mission, Brown City; St. Mary Parish, Burnside; St. Patrick Chapel, Clifford; that form Northern Lapeer County Family of Parishes, effective July 1, 2022. This will be in addition to his continuing responsibilities in the Metropolitan Tribunal. Fr. Czarnota currently serves in the Metropolitan Tribunal and as weekend priest support at St. Isidore Parish, Macomb Township; St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Shelby Township; St. Francis of Assisi-St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Ray Township; that form North Macomb Family of Parishes 2.
Deacon Richard Dorsch appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who will pastor Sacred Heart Parish, Auburn Hills; St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Pontiac; St. Hugo of the Hills Parish, Bloomfield Hills; St. Thomas More Parish, Troy; that form South Oakland Vicariate Family 3, effective July 1, 2023. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Deacon Dorsch will live and serve primarily at St. Hugo of the Hills Parish, Bloomfield Hills, under the mentorship of Fr. Mark Brauer.
