Archdiocese of Detroit clergy announcements: Sept. 30, 2024

Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:

Fr. Paul Ballien appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Plymouth; Resurrection Parish, Canton; St. John Neumann Parish, Canton; and St. Thomas a’Becket Parish, Canton, that form Northwest Wayne Vicariate Family 4, effective Sept. 29, 2024. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Ballien will live and serve primarily at St. John Neumann, Canton. Fr. Ballien currently serves as pastor of St. John Neumann Parish, Canton, and as administrator of Resurrection Parish, Canton.

Fr. Johnbritto Chinnappa, MSFS, with the concurrence of the Provincial of the USA Region of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales, Very Reverend Anthony Bonela, MSFS, appointed Full-time Priest Support at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Plymouth; Resurrection Parish, Canton; St. John Neumann Parish, Canton; and St. Thomas a’Becket Parish, Canton, that form Northwest Wayne Vicariate Family 4, effective Sept. 29, 2024. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Chinnappa will live and serve primarily at St. John Neumann, Canton, under the mentorship of Fr. Paul Ballien. Fr. Chinnappa currently serves as Parochial Vicar of Resurrection Parish, Canton, and St. John Neumann Parish, Canton.

Fr. James Houbeck appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Plymouth; Resurrection Parish, Canton; St. John Neumann Parish, Canton; and St. Thomas a’Becket Parish, Canton, that form Northwest Wayne Vicariate Family 4, effective Sept. 29, 2024. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Houbeck will live and serve primarily at Resurrection Parish, Canton. Fr. Houbeck currently serves as parochial vicar of Resurrection Parish, Canton, and St. John Neumann Parish, Canton.

Msgr. Todd Lajiness appointed Moderator and a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Plymouth; Resurrection Parish, Canton; St. John Neumann Parish, Canton; and St. Thomas a’Becket Parish, Canton, that form Northwest Wayne Vicariate Family 4, effective Sept. 29, 2024. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Msgr. Lajiness will live and serve primarily at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Plymouth. Msgr. Lajiness currently serves as administrator of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Plymouth.

Fr. Christopher Maus appointed a member of the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Plymouth; Resurrection Parish, Canton; St. John Neumann Parish, Canton; and St. Thomas a’Becket Parish, Canton, that form Northwest Wayne Vicariate Family 4, effective Sept. 29, 2024.
