Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:
Fr. Richard Baumann, SJ, with the concurrence of his provincial, Very Reverend Karl Kiser, S.J., appointed a member of the in solidum team of priests who pastor Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Detroit; Sacred Heart Parish, Detroit; St. Augustine and St. Monica Parish, Detroit; St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Detroit; and St. Elizabeth Parish, Detroit, that form Detroit Lower Eastside Family of Parishes, effective Aug. 1, 2024. Pending inclusion in the Family Priests’ Covenant, Fr. Baumann will serve primarily at Sacred Heart Parish, Detroit. Fr. Baumann currently serves outside of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Fr. Mark Tibai appointed full-time priest support to St. Joseph Parish, Lake Orion, effective Aug. 10, 2024.
Fr. Timothy Wezner appointed to serve as episcopal vicar for clergy discipline, in addition to part-time duties as vice-chancellor, effective July 15, 2024. Fr. Wezner will serve in this role in tandem with Msgr. G. Michael Bugarin, who also has the title of episcopal vicar for clergy discipline. Fr. Wezner will continue to serve as priest weekend support at St. Mary Parish, Wayne; St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Parish, Westland; St. Richard Parish, Westland; and St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Garden City, that form the Nankin Family of Parishes.
