Mass in Celebration of Catholic Schools Week 2022 (Thursday, Feb. 3)

Join the Archdiocese of Detroit in celebrating #CatholicSchoolsWeek with Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit. Mass will be live-streamed starting at 10:30 a.m. on the Detroit Catholic Schools Facebook Page or at aod.org/livemasses.
Winners of the annual Alliance Catholic Credit Union "Live it. Show It. Share it." contest also will be recognized at the Mass.
Winter Scripture Series (Feb. 4 through March 11)

Rise Detroit Conference (Sunday, Feb. 6)

All ninth through 12th graders are invited to attend RISE!, an all-day conference for young people, on Sunday, Feb 6. from 8:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Keynote speakers Dr. Bob Rice, Auxiliary Bishop Arturo Cepeda and Fr. Patrick Gonyea will address attendees, and breakout groups will be led by The Culture Project, an initiative of young people set out to restore culture through the experience of virtue.
The day’s activities also include praise and worship, two workshop opportunities, small group discussion, Mass and confessions. All teens must be accompanied by an adult chaperone, and masks are required. Registration is $35 for all participants and includes lunch and dinner.
Live at the Basilica: “How Do We Get Our Young People Back to the Church?” (Wednesday, Feb. 9)

The "Live at the Basilica" monthly speaker series continues with keynote speaker Fr. Tim Kesicki, SJ, who will address the topic, “How do we get our young people back to the Church?” The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak.
Fr. Kesicki is president of the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States. The series is sponsored by the Catholic Foundation of Michigan.
Young Catholic Professional Detroit Pistons Outing (Thursday, Feb. 10)

Young Catholic Professionals Detroit invites people to attend the Pistons vs. Phoenix Suns basketball game on Feb. 10. Members get in free, and non-members pay $30. Food and drinks are included (excludes alcohol), as well as a Pistons gift to take home, and an opportunity to shoot a free throw on the court. Vigneron for the World Day of the Sick Mass and Anointing at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament on Sunday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. This special Mass will be celebrated for the sick, their caregivers, health care professionals, and loved ones and will include anointing of the sick and a special blessing for caregivers and health care workers.
Priestly Vocations: Discernment Weekend (Feb. 17-20)

Men ages 18 to 55 who feel called to the priesthood are invited to a discernment weekend at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit from Feb. 17-20. Participants will spend four days living at the seminary, which will provide them with a firsthand opportunity to see what it’s like from the inside and to discern with like-minded men.
Those interested must have a meeting with Fr. Craig Giera, director of priestly vocations, before registering.
