Fr. Schmitz is a Catholic priest and Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries in the Diocese of Duluth, Minn., as well as a Catholic speaker and author. In 2021, Fr. Schmitz and Ascension Press launched a new podcast, "The Bible in a Year," which consists of 365 episodes in which he reads the entire Bible and gives his own prayer and commentary every day. Even before it launched, it had become the No. 1-ranked podcast overall on Apple Podcasts.
