Riverview Gabriel Richard rolls in both boys and girls bowling

You’d think Laura Taraszkiewicz would be better suited coaching cross country than bowling.

There she was last Saturday hustling from one side of the spacious Oak Lanes in Westland to the other side guiding the Riverview Gabriel Richard boys and girls bowling teams to CHSL West Side championships.

It was the second year in a row for the boys. The girls last won in 2017.

However, it was way back in 2007 the last time that a school won both boys and girls trophies, when Dearborn Divine Child accomplished that.

This is Laura’s second year coaching. “It’s rewarding,” she said, not the least bit winded.  

East Side champs were the boys from Divine Child and the girls from Farmington Hills Mercy.

Here are the winning rosters:

Boys West: Gabriel Richard – Ethan Lozon, Gabe Parks, Dominic Trela, Sebastian McWilliams, Stasiu Taraszkiewicz, Matteo Fedele, Devin Durham.

Boys East: Divine Child – Noel Jackson, Johnathan Ligenza, Paul Scheuher, Anthony Kaniski, Sam Scheuher, Shane Green, Jacob Neiheisel. Coach, Nick Ploucha.

Girls West: Gabriel Richard – Hannah Sauve, Lucy Carroll, Sydney Kusiak, Chelsea Probe, Alyssa Wladysiak, Christianna Trela, Angel Salisbury, Julianne Elipse.

Girls East: Mercy – Maddie Briggs, Caitlin Hill, Angela Rea, Faye Storck, Jasmin Hudson, Anna Burns, Abby Worley, Claire Zara. Coach, Vicki Kowalski.
