Archdiocese of Detroit clergy appointments: Feb. 3, 2019

Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:

Fr. Mario Amore appointed administrator of St. Aloysius Parish, Detroit, effective July 1, 2019. Fr. Amore is currently serving as associate pastor of St. Hugo of the Hills Parish, Bloomfield Hills. Msgr. Patrick Halfpenny appointed Director for Priestly Mission in the Office for Clergy and Consecrated Life, effective July 1, 2019. In this new position, Msgr. Halfpenny will assist priests to become better equipped for mission as they seek to implement the directives found in Archbishop Vigneron’s pastoral letter, Unleash the Gospel. Msgr. Halfpenny is currently serving as pastor of St. Paul on the Lake Parish, Grosse Pointe Farms.

Fr. Steven Mateja appointed associate pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Allen Park, effective Jan. 13, 2019. Fr Mateja is returning from a leave of absence.

Fr. Salvatore Palazzolo released from parochial ministry to study canon law at Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., effective July 1, 2019. Fr. Palazzolo is currently serving as pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, Port Huron.
